Make a signature transparent

Sign on plain white paper, take a photo and remove the paper to get a signature on a transparent background, ready to place on documents and PDFs.
How to do it
1. Sign with a bold, dark pen on plain white paper. Photograph it from straight above, in even light and without shadows.
2. Open the tool and choose the photo. The background is removed for you; if not, tap Remove background.
3. In the Crop tab, crop tightly around the signature.
4. Open Download options and save as PNG, which keeps the transparency.
Getting a clean result
Thin pen lines are hard for any automatic cut-out. Bold, dark ink gives the best result. Check the signature at full size, then use Erase and Restore to fix spots.
A signature image is not a legally valid electronic signature in every situation. Check the requirements of whoever receives the document.
